Entering via Wire Pass, the most accessible gateway, you’ll start with a simple hike before descending into the deep, shaded canyon where the towering walls rise to 500 feet. From there, we’ll explore as far into Buckskin Gulch as your group desires, typically covering 5–8+ miles depending on energy and interest.
Our experienced local guides handle every detail—permits, transportation, safety, and gear—while sharing geology, history, and natural insights that bring this incredible landscape to life. Because Buckskin Gulch is known for its flash-flood risk, we only operate tours in safe, non-monsoon conditions, ensuring you enjoy the canyon with complete peace of mind. South Coyote Buttes is one of the most visually striking and least crowded areas of the Vermilion Cliffs, featuring the South Wave alongside sculpted sandstone fins, swirling colorful rocks, and panoramic desert views. This dog-friendly hike is a quieter alternative to The Wave.
